📖 My Story
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2004 at the age of 16. In a single moment, everything changed — every meal became a math problem, every night became a risk, and every day became a test of discipline I never asked for.
For the first 15 years, I struggled. My A1C stayed above 9.0 despite trying every gadget, every app, every supplement that promised better numbers. I spent money I could not afford on technology that looked impressive but did not change my outcomes.
The turning point came when I stopped chasing tools and started building a system. I moved from a country with excellent healthcare to Southeast Asia, where insulin access is a monthly struggle and CGMs are a luxury most cannot afford. That experience forced me to strip diabetes management down to what actually works — regardless of budget or location.
I lowered my A1C from 9.2% to 6.8% using MDI with Apidra and Lantus, disciplined fingerstick testing, free apps, and a daily routine built around consistency rather than expensive technology. That system became Guide Balance.
🗓️ My T1D Journey
Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis changed everything overnight.
15 years of trial and error. A1C stuck above 9.0. Spent money on tech that did not work without a system behind it.
Stopped chasing gadgets. Started building systems. Shifted focus from tools to discipline and routine.
Experienced both excellent and limited healthcare systems. Learned that budget does not determine outcomes — systems do.
